"The Dynamic Performance and Bass Extension of a Large Speaker"
Bryston classifies the Mini T as a bookshelf speaker. But you would need to have a pretty substantial bookshelf to hold this titan of a performer. And it will dwarf all but the largest tomes. So it might be better to describe the Mini T as a compact loudspeaker. At nearly two feet tall and weighing in at a substantial 42 pounds, its heft may be out of place beside your collection of classic literature.
The Absolute Sound magazine honored the Mini T with an Editor's Choice Award for 2014. But that's not all. The magazine also listed it as one of "The Best Audio Products" of the year in The Absolute Sound 2015 High End Audio Buyers Guide. "If you want the dynamic performance and bass extension of a large speaker in a small form factor the Bryston Mini T is well worth an audition."
Built to be exceptionally high quality and affordable, the Bryston Mini T Bookshelf boasts new driver designs, enclosure vibration analysis, crossover refinement, and anechoic chamber testing. All of this went into creating an amazing product, which brings superior design to the table.
High-power Three-way Design
Size isn’t the point of pride with the Bryston Mini T, which is the smallest of the T Series. Huge performance is the key. Unusually for a bookshelf or compact stand-mounted loudspeaker, the Mini T uses a true three-way design featuring a high power 8" aluminum cone bass driver, 5.25" aluminum cone midrange driver, and a 1" titanium dome tweeter. Like its larger T Series and A Series siblings, it reproduces dynamics and low frequencies with a realistic sense of scale that are typically sacrificed in small speaker design. Not so with the might Mini T!
Beautifully Designed Custom Drivers
Even though the Mini T comprises a relatively small package compared to other loudspeakers in the T Series, Bryston’s custom 8" woofer, midrange, and tweeter all fit neatly on the well-designed front baffle. Bandwidth remains wide plunging to a deep 38 Hz in the bass region and soaring to 20 kHz on top. Each driver is powered by FEA optimized motor systems and is assembled in an ultra-rigid die-cast aluminum chassis which resists sympathetic vibrations that would otherwise feedback through the front of the drivers. The drivers also use substantial magnet assemblies.
Superior Suspended Disbelief
A state-of-the-art audio system involves what some refer to as a 'suspension of disbelief.' This means the playback system transcends the recorded medium and transports you to a live venue. You forget it's a recording and believe you are there at the live performance. Bryston's goal is to provide its customers with a superior level of 'suspended disbelief.'
Substantial Cabinet Design
Even though the Mini T is the smallest speaker of the series, it still espouses each of the cabinet construction principles found in all other models in the T product line. Heavy walls and a double-thick front baffle are anchored securely by a robust bracing lattice. Like other Bryston speakers, the Mini T is virtually uncolored by enclosure or port resonances.
Included Accessories
Black fabric grilles are provided. Also included with the speaker are padded feet and spikes which may be screwed into threaded inserts found at the base of the loudspeaker. Padded feet are suitable for protecting hard floors beneath the speaker from damage. Spikes are recommended for use on carpet.
