The Newest Advancement in High-End Turntable Performance at an Exceptional Value
The Clearaudio Signature turntable is a special edition of the new Concept Signature, created exclusively for the US market. It represents advancements in high-end performance with exceptional value.
The Signature combines technological and material science advancements from the entire Clearaudio turntable line, highlighted by the AiR 12v DC coreless motor with a new speed control circuity derived from Clearaudio's award-winning Reference Jubilee turntable.
In addition to sharing the AiR motor with the Performance DC and Concept turntables, the Signature combines the mechanical and visual qualities of these models.
This version of the Signature includes the new Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm.
New Tacho-Speed-Control
Speed stability is a huge factor in getting the sound off an LP that the artist intended, and the Signature doesn't disappoint. It incorporates a newly developed "Tacho-Speed-Control" that constantly monitors the rotational speed. It provides real-time feedback to the control electronics, enabling the system to immediately respond to dynamic influences such as stylus drag, belt tension, friction, or temperature.
Additionally, TSC performs an automatic calibration at every restart.
Advanced Platter, Sub-Platter, and Plinth
The 1.8"-thick (30mm) POM platter sits atop the precision-machined aluminum sub-platter, driven by a flat polished belt which communicates speed control via the TSC.
The constrained layered plinth and platter bearing, a hardened steel shaft inside a sintered bronze sleeve with Teflon thrust pad, are derived from the Clearaduio Concept turntable, which gained worldwide recognition with over 20,000 units sold.
New AiR 12v DC Coreless Motor
The Signature's brand new air-core (non-magnetic) 12-volt DC motor runs unbelievably quietly, ensuring that the listener remains blissfully unaware of the whole process.
A version of the O-Ring IMS (improved motor suspension), derived from the Reference Jubilee turntable, isolates the AiR DC coreless motor, for enhanced vibration control.
Professional Power 12v Linear Power Supply
The Professional Power 12v linear power supply in black, an $800 value, is included with the Signature. It is a transformer based linear power supply developed to maximize the AiR motor. It is derived from Clearaudio's Professional Power 24v that was developed for their Ovation and Innovation series that uses 24V AiR motors.
The Professional Power 12V uses a vibration damped toroidal transformer in conjunction with stiff regulation, providing clean power to the AiR motor. An IEC power connector allows use of your preferred AC cables and a grounding lug provides an additional earth ground point.
Performance DC Feet
Physical isolation is accomplished with leveling feet from Clearaudio's acclaimed Performance DC turntable. In addition to making set-up more convenient, these feet also help to minimize the effects of room vibration or vibration from other components on the Signature.
Tonearm Options
The triple-black Signature has two tonearm options, the Tracer Black or the new Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber. Both tonearms feature black carbon fiber arm tubes, exceptionally lightweight and rigid for reducing resonance and enhancing clarity.
New Signature Black Satisfy Tonearm
The new Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm is the Clearaudio established reference point, now in all black including carbon fiber armtube. Clearaudio Direct Wire tonearm cable is hardwired and terminated with gold-plated RCA plugs to assure music signal integrity.
It uses handmade Swiss vertical and lateral bearings, adopted from the watch industry, incorporating polished tungsten points against sapphire thrust pads. The magnetic anti-skating force is mechanically decoupled and easily adjustable.
Thanks to a pre-mounted aluminum headshell, the azimuth of the Satisfy tonearm is simple to align.
Anti-skating? Equally effortless, yet reassuringly precise. Magnetically adjusted, it is then fixed in place with an easily accessible locking screw neatly positioned near the tonearm bearing. The vertical bearing features a polished tungsten spindle embedded in a meticulously balanced sapphire bearing (the latter is also used by Swiss clock manufacturers). The two horizontal bearings are crafted using an exceedingly strong and durable ceramic material.
At the heart of the Satisfy tonearm is something quite significant: direct wiring, which allows the audio signal to travel unimpeded along one single continuous path from cartridge to preamplifier.
