Performs Like a Far More Expensive Speaker Cable
Cardas Audio's Iridium speaker cable performs like a product costing much more and is suitable for virtually any amp/speaker combination. Perfect for long or short runs, it boasts a rich midrange with strong bass and a smooth treble. This cable is very soft and flexible for its size. Iridium replaces bestselling Twinlink speaker cable in the Cardas product line.
The November 2018 issue of The Absolute Sound magazine praises Cardas Iridium, noting that the cable "leaned toward being even in sonic distribution with a slightly warmer-than-neutral presentation."
"The Iridium cables continue the company’s tradition of warmth and musicality—and compared with their predecessors, the Twinlink speaker wire and Microtwin interconnect, the Iridium cables are said to offer improved imaging. Iridium wires also feature upgraded terminations, and soft rubber jackets for improved look and feel," notes The Absolute Sound's 2016 Buyers Guide to Cables, Power Products, Accessories & Music.
Sophisticated Conductors and Geometry
With an outer diameter of 0.345", Iridium interconnect uses 2 x 11.5 AWG premium Cardas Copper conductors in a twin axial conductor geometry with PFA dielectric. Its gauge sizes are scaled to Golden Ratio proportions.
Iridium speaker cable is available terminated with Cardas milled spades or Cardas CABE banana plugs. The spades are machined from billet copper, and plated with a rhodium flash over silver plate. The CABE banana plug is constructed from nonmagnetic, eutectic brass and is nickel plated, and it has a 0.25" terminating hole.
Iridium is finished in a soft extruded neoprene jacket.
