Smooth Sound with Sharp Edges, When Needed

EAT, the European Audio Team, describes the new C-Dur turntable as having smooth sound with sharp edges. This means the C-Dur delivers an effortless sounding experience with your vinyl, but it can also go bold when your music is big and dynamic.

The idea behind the C-Dur was to offer the concept of the acclaimed EAT Forte turntable in a more compact format. The result is a similar silky smooth playback platform without any rumble, ensuring a superior sound quality. This level of excellence at an affordable price differentiates EAT drives from the rest of the analog world.

You'll love the clean, elegant look of the C-Dur as much as the sound. It comes in a variety of striking finishes, including high gloss plum, making it an eye-catcher in any living room.

Choose the C-Dur with the optional EAT Jo No.5 MC Cartridge, which brings out the best in the C-Dur – and vice versa. Or use a cartridge you already own.

    Precision 10" Carbon Fiber Tonearm

The 10" carbon fiber EAT C-Note tonearm is a well thought-out precision instrument. It combines the numerous advantages of a uni-pivot arm with a cardan design. The uni-pivot in the middle helps decrease the load on the bearing. The traditional cardan bearing insures high stability and record play ease with very low friction. Additionally, EAT uses a special silicon-based lubricant to damp tonearm and cartridge resonances by more than 50%.

The carbon fiber armtube offers the required stiffness for precise tracking, while the aluminum headshell damps resonances. They work in true harmony together.

A semi-balanced 5P DIN to RCA cable is included with the C-Dur. If you like, you can upgrade to a balanced phono cable (optional, sold separately) and benefit from a fully balanced signal transfer.

    Heavyweight Platter and Massive Bearing

The heavyweight 11.5 lb. aluminum platter sits on a 2 lb. aluminum resonance-free sub platter. The massive inverted main bearing guarantees silent playback with accurate speeds.

The mass loaded 4 lb. bearing block uses a polished stainless-steel spindle with a ceramic ball on the top. A ceramic ball is used on the top, because it is very hard and inert. This, in combination with a Teflon plate as a bearing mirror, also functions as a good damping device. The satin Teflon surface surface produces perfectly smooth movement without any rumble.

    Ultra Low-Noise Motor

The ultra-low noise motor is isolated, positioned inside a steel ring which is mounted in the chassis. An external DC power sup- ply unit with an AC generator creates totally clean power for the motor. A special anti-static polished rubber belt connects the motor with the aluminum sub platter.

    Pushbutton Speed Change

There's no fumbling with pulleys and belts required if you want to change from listening to an LP to enjoying a 45 rpm single. Speed change with the electronic speed control is as easy as it gets. Place a record on the platter and with the bush of a button select the correct speed.

    Decoupling Feet and a Dustcover

Room vibration doesn't have an easy path into the C-Dur. The turntable is effectively decoupled from its surface by its special feet. The three height-adjustable, damped aluminum feet comprise the perfect platform and significantly reduce the risk of acoustical feedback. The feet are able to absorb energy thanks to their TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomers) insert.

To help keep your C-Dur dust-free between listening session so that it can look and perform its best, the turntable comes with a convenient dust cover.

    Optional Jo No.5 Phono Cartridge

EAT's Jo No.5 MC cartridge is an elegant masterpiece, both sonically as well as visually.

"At $1295, it challenges my favorite $3,500 cartridge reference for best overall definition, imaging, and musicality," reports Robert Levi in his July 18, 2018 review for positive-feedback.com. "I cannot even suggest a cartridge at Jo’s price that comes close in overall performance."

Jo No. 5 has a nude fine line stylus. The cartridge body and stylus guard are made of polyamide ceramic and are produced by an additive manufacturing process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). This process sinters thin layers of power with a laser to build the final structure.

The Jo No. 5 comes in unmistakable mint green color and features the truthful and immersive sound that is the signature of all EAT products.

"The EAT Jo No.5 MC Cartridge is the best overall performing MC cartridge I have heard in a long time, and the current 'price/performance value' of the decade," notes Robert Levi. "It is not just a very good sounding cartridge. Jo is a cutting-edge high tech music machine enhancing the performance and erasing distortion!"
