"You Won’t Find Better for the Money"
The Focal Aria 906 bookshelf speaker is faithful to the DNA of the Aria range. It offers refined high-end acoustics combined with excellent value, thanks to the use of premium materials and legendary Focal design excellence. The intention was a return to the very essence of acoustics for those who are passionate about music.
"As compacts go, the 906 touches all the right sonic bases for me. But more than that, these factors all dovetail into a single conclusion—that time and again, the Aria 906 just gets music right," notes Neil Gader in The Absolute Sound magazine. "And true to its name, that’s a lot to sing about."
"The Focal Aria 906s are very enjoyable, respectable speakers. If you value standmounters with scale, power and refinement, you won’t find better for the money," says England's What Hi-fi?.
If you’re looking for an excellent pair of bookshelf or stand-mount speakers that will take your audio system to the next level, then these speakers are definitely worth an audition," reports Mark Sparrow, Forbes magazine.
Innovative Flax Cone Driver
In addition to its blend of classic and modern design, this two-way loudspeaker provides the benefits of the Focal flax cone, characterized by natural sound with low coloration, richness of reproduction in the midrange, and tighter bass. The result is a more homogeneous sound with improved dynamics.
The flax cones have been made in France exclusively by Focal since their introduction in 2013. With their original design, the cones are entirely oriented towards acoustic performance. They are constructed of high quality flax fiber enclosed by two thin layers of glass fiber.
The lightness of the flax fiber satisfies the criteria of high internal damping, high velocity, and high flexural rigidity. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass, because the fiber is hollow. It also has very low elasticity, which makes it ideal to increase the flexural rigidity of a sandwich structure.
Poron Suspension Tweeter for Smoother Treble
For the TNF tweeter, Focal introduced a major evolution to its aluminum/magnesium tweeter. The suspension between the dome and its bracket uses Poron, a material with shape memory. This suspension method is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, making it possible to reduce distortion by a factor of three in the 2-3kHz range, where the human ear has very great sensitivity.
The inverted dome’s spatial characteristics and very low directivity already make it greatly superior to the conventional domes used by other competitors. This guarantees an incredibly stable sound stage, which makes the listening position much less critical. Additionally, a urethane tweeter plate with waveguide offers improved horizontal directivity and imaging.
Ultra-Rigid Cabinet with Non-Parallel Side Panels
Just as you would expect, the cabinet of the Aria 906 is special, too. Ultra-rigid MDF cabinet construction with non-parallel side panels for very little vibration and maximum neutrality for midrange neutrality and notable bass presence. An aerodynamic front port with low distortion, while the magnetic cloth frame grille installs and attaches easily.
You will swoon over the appearance as well as the sound of the Aria 906. It comes in your choice of premium black high gloss or walnut finishes with an attractive front panel 'leather effect' finish.
