"Clear, Clean and Spacious" Headphones
Focal Hadenys wired, open-back headphones combine contemporary design with hi-fi quality. Fitted with exclusive Focal speaker drivers, they deliver warm sound with remarkable depth and precision. In addition to its acoustic performance, the Hadenys stands out for its comfort and elegant aesthetics. These are ideal headphones for an uncompromising listening experience at home.
Designed and manufactured in France in Focal's workshops, the Hadenys' 1-5/8" drivers a remade from an Aluminum-Magnesium blend, in a formed shape, unique to Focal with the company's "M" shape dome. This new dome shape has originated from the research performed during Focal's bestselling Utopia headphone project and offers the highest quality sound, while avoiding potential avenues of distortion. A honeycomb grille ensures openness and the decompression of the speaker driver.
"A Refined and Uncluttered Soundscape"
"We were struck by just how clear, clean and spacious these open-backs were capable of sounding," reports Harry McKerrell, whathifi.com, May 11, 2024.
"Nuanced instrumental textures immediately stood out thanks to a great dose of precision and clarity, be it the sharp clang of a metal cymbal or the raspy, almost smokey texture of a bluesy trumpet. The wired cans illuminated instruments with intense clarity, allowing textures to shine within what felt like a refined and uncluttered soundscape."
"A Well-Balanced Signature"
"The Hadenys have a well-balanced signature with prominent mids and elevated bass and treble regions giving it a mild V-shaped signature," observes reviewer Thomas in his August 24, 2024 review for headfonics.com.
"The boosted low-end presentation was a pleasant surprise, as most open-back headphones I’ve used struggle at maintaining a proper balance of mid- and sub-bass regions. You usually get one with heavy compromises to the other, but rarely both.
"That’s not the case with the Hadenys which extends quite well to give off a visceral feel on deep notes while maintaining a punchy, warm mid-bass region. The presentation is more like a closed-back in that regard."
"Extremely Good"
"The Focal Hadenys are an extremely good set of open-backed headphones that are not only durable, but sound great too," notes Christian Thomas, soundguys.com, June 14, 2024.
"The Hadenys made me sit down and really re-evaluate how I look at these headphones and I think Focal did a good job of achieving a proper Goldilocks," reports Cable Loo, headphones.com, May 31, 2024. "Unlike most other well-tuned open-back headphones in the market, the Hadenys actually has a sizable mid-bass hump. I’m not exactly how Focal managed to incorporate it here but I’m not complaining… I’m satisfied with the bass volume here, especially for the relatively neutral presentation that the Hadenys seem to be aiming for."
Designed for Comfort
Focal's intention is to spoil you at every turn. In addition to providing superior sound, the Hadenys is also designed for comfort.
The lightweight magnesium yoke is very impressive, both in terms of purity of the design and in terms of comfort. Thus, the yoke doesn't have traditional vertically rotating mechanics, as this has been integrated into the headband. As a result, these headphones are perfect for long listening sessions, while the memory foam ear cushions and genuine leather, breathable fabric headband provide added comfort.
Refined Aesthetics and Finish
In addition to their performance, the Hadenys stand out for their aesthetics, for an appearance that is as on-trend as it is timeless. Hadenys has a refined and sophisticated look with its earthy shades of brown. Inspired by the Hadean era, the period when the Earth was formed around 4.6 billion years ago. The Hadenys represents a return to our natural origins, balancing power and mineral qualities.
A handsome carrying case for the headphone and accessories is provided along with a 6 ft (1.8m) mini-jack cable and a 1/4” (6.3mm) jack adapter.
'Burn-in' Time Suggested for Best Performance
These exquisite headphones need a 'burn-in' period to reach full performance. This will happen naturally after several hours of listening.
If you wish to accelerate the process, we recommend that you remove the headphones and play a music signal through them for at least 24 hours at a relatively high volume level on tracks rich in low frequencies. This will stabilize the Hadenys' loudspeakers and allow you to enjoy your listening to the full.
