Newest DAC Platform
Forty years after the creation of the CD, the 50n is capable of revealing more musical details than ever. It offers the most accurate conversion digital to analog conversion, with best quality from CDs and unlimited online music sources.
Play your highest-resolution music with support up to PCM 384 kHz/32 bit and DSD 128. Decode PCM and DSD with a new ESS DAC chipset, the ES9038Q2M, along with custom Marantz Musical Digital Filtering. Not content with off-the-shelf solutions, Marantz engineered custom switchable digital filters. This critical step in digital to analog conversion contributes to the CD 50n’s clear and detailed yet spacious and warm sound.
Dual Master Clocks
Two high-speed, high-precision master clocks are situated next to the DAC. Each is dedicated to matching the sample rate of incoming digital audio. One clock matches 48 kHz and multiples thereof. The other matches 44.1 kHz, multiples thereof, and DSD. By using separate clocks for different sample rates, Marantz ensures maximum sample-rate compatibility with no distortion- causing interpolation error.

HEOS® Built-in enables access to AirPlay2, WiFi, Bluetooth, Alexa, Google, Roon Tested, Spotify Connect, Deezer, TIDAL, Pandora, Sirius XM, TuneIn, and more.
Inputs and Outputs
As the center of your digital playback, use the S/PDIF optical and coaxial digital inputs and outputs to connect legacy digital sources to leverage CD 50n’s high-quality digital decoding. Output digital audio to downstream digital devices as well.
The USB A and USB B inputs give you more digital connection choices. If you have your own music library on a USB drive, connect it to the USB A input to let CD 50n catalog it for you. The USB B input lets you connect a computer or external music server and use CD 50n as an outboard DAC.
Wireless and Ethernet Network Connectivity
802.11n Wi-Fi built-in makes simple the connection to your home network and internet, regardless of whether your stereo is located near wired network access.
When Wi-Fi access is unavailable or you desire the most stable network connection possible, connect CD 50n to your home network with ethernet cable.
Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAM)
While many brands claim unique engineering in sensitive and analog circuits, most use commonly available integrated op-amps in critical signal paths. Those op-amps can compromise audio integrity and limit design ingenuity.
Marantz developed an entirely unique replacement for integrated circuits using ultra-high-quality discrete components. Marantz HDAM circuitry outperforms traditional op-amps both in the listening room and the laboratory. Very high-speed signal handling dramatically improves bandwidth. Clever amplification design minimizes distortion, and ideal layout silences noise. Ultimately, the flexibility a fully discrete solution provided us the freedom to engineer the ideal basis for extraordinary performance.
Fully Digital Front End
CD playback, integrated streaming, plus USB & S/PDIF DAC inputs make the CD 50n compatible with most digital audio. Variable output allows for direct connection to amplifiers in addition to typical fixed output used for preamp connections.
Built-in Digital Preamp
While the CD 50n can be used as a normal source component with fixed analog outputs, it can also be used as a digital preamp to drive a power amplifier directly. A second set of RCA outputs on the back panel is dedicated to preamp variable output, which is controlled through the included IR remote control.
In addition to the traditional analog out, use HEOS or the remote control to adjust volume output when driving a power amplifier directly. If you are a digital audio purist, connect the CD 50n directly to your power amplifier for the shortest path to the Most Musical Sound.
Headphone Stage
For exquisite private listening, the CD 50n’s headphone output with Amp Gain Setting is designed using fully discrete HDAM SA-2 circuitry to ensure your headphones sound as warm, spacious, and clear as you would expect from your loudspeakers.
HDMI ARC
Unlock your TV sound by connecting it to the CD 50n. With a single HDMI cable between your TV and CD 50n, you can hear shows, movies, and games at their finest through your stereo system.
