Bring your CD Collection Back to Life

Bring your CD collection back to life for a full sensory experience. With streamed music quality increasing, the reason to buy a CD player is less about enjoying high fidelity sound, and more about owning and interacting with physical media.

This is the reason why so many music lovers hold onto their CD collections. It’s the full sensory experience of seeing and going through your CDs, opening the jeweled case, reading the lyrics and seeing the artist. It brings you back to the concerts where you picked them up, and perhaps some of them are even signed by the artist. As a pioneer in CD players, trust Marantz to deliver the most fulfilling trip down memory lane with the new CD 60.

    Highly Evolved Design

Forty years ago, Marantz released the CD 63, the first high performance CD Player on the market. Now, Marantz is pleased to share the CD 60, a new audiophile-quality CD player that not only includes technology that has evolved from our first player, but also continues to reflect improvements over more recent past models.

Additionally, Marantz has applied its principles of warmth and authenticity to the cosmetic design to produce a CD player that not only sounds better than CD6007 (which it succeeds), but matches the new luxurious industrial design found in Marantz's newest offerings.

    Improved Marantz Sound Tuning

CDs enjoyed their first growth year since 2004 in 2021. A huge portion of the audiophile population loves the simplicity of CD playback. There's no complicated set-up and no network troubleshooting required. Exceptional sound quality is paramount, of course, and that's where the CD 60 comes in.

A new CD player can breathe new life into a collection. With improved "Marantz Sound Tuning" and high resolution digital-to-analog decoding, the CD 60 is evolved from a long line of Marantz excellence beginning with the CD 63. Its analog section has been engineered with Marantz's newest proprietary HDAM and HDAM SA2 technology with improved current-source and cascade circuit blocks. CD 60 performance is superior to the excellent CD6007 in terms of THD, SNR, dynamic range, and sound quality. It takes maximum advantage of higher quality passive components, too, such as resistors and capacitors.

    USB Playback

The CD 60's offline USB playback offers hi-res playback in the simplest way possible. Plug in a thumb drive or external hard drive and start enjoying digital music files with zero set-up hassle and no need to fiddle with a network connection. DSD playback via USB offers exceptionally low THD of 0.0006% – and 0.0005% for USB PCM 24-bit.

The digital output of the CD 60 gives you convenient flexibility, whether you listen to CDs or digital files on USB. Directly connect to the digital input of your preamp, integrated amp, or receiver. Or for a potential sonic upgrade, connect to an external premium DAC. The RCA analog output is compatible with all preamps and integrated amps.

    Headphone Amplifier

Many manufacturer's include a headphone jack with their audio gear almost as an afterthought. That has never been true of Marantz and is certainly not the case with the CD 60. The dedicated headphone stage is engineered for superb sound quality with your headphones using Marantz HDAM technology.

    Luxurious Industrial Design

The luxurious industrial design of the CD 60 reflects the warmth and heritage of the Marantz sound and Brand. Available in Marantz Black and Silver Gold. Its cosmetic design direction matches the Marantz MODEL 40n and MODEL 30 integrated amplifier. The remote power on link allows pairing to power on and off simultaneously. And the CD 60 works with the MODEL 40n / MODEL 30 remote control.

"My initial impression is that the Marantz CD60 is a very strong performer that might be able to shine in far pricier systems which makes it a strong buy..."

    - Ian White, ecoustics.com, July 5, 2022

"For Model 40n owners looking to revive their CD collection, the CD 60 is a bit of a no-brainer. It has exactly – and only – the functionality you require, including a finely tuned DAC and output stage, and mirrors the design of Marantz's amplifier. But that's not the full story. Regardless of partnering kit, the luxurious CD 60 has broad appeal as an above-average, but still affordable, silver disc spinner."
