"Feels Like Magic" – 70 Watts of Pure Analog Power and Stereo Connectivity

Designed for audiophiles who choose every component carefully, a pure and powerful amplifier is essential. The Marantz MODEL 50 Pure Analog Stereo Integrated Amplifier is the ideal integrated amplifier. With 70 watts per channel of unique Marantz current-feedback power and HDAM SA-3 circuitry, MODEL 50 drives loudspeakers with total control. Six analog inputs, including a high-quality MM Phono stage, make it the centerpiece of streamlined and complex stereo systems alike.

Enjoy excellent music quality with best-in-class channel separation and high linearity, featuring new Marantz industrial design with elegant porthole display.

The double shielded toroidal transformer delivers high level of clean power for the purest amplification. A newly improved MM Marantz Musical Phono stage provides the purest signal from your beloved vinyl records. For convenient operation, the MODEL 50 includes a System remote controller to control both the MODEL 50 and CD 50n high-resolution network digital audio and CD player.

    "Uncountable Magical Moments"

"When a piece of gear gets out of the way and delivers my music without editorializing, and provides enough current and a sufficient damping factor, the resulting sound can feel like magic. And the Model 50 delivered uncountable magical moments during my time with it," reports Dennis Burger, soundstageaccess.com, May 1, 2024.

"A listening experience like no other," proclaims The Audio Tailor, November 2, 2024. "What truly sets the Marantz Model 50 apart is its ability to disappear into the music. It's transparent in the best possible way, never imposing its own character on the audio but instead faithfully reproducing the artist's intent. Whether you're listening to the delicate nuances of a jazz trio or the thunderous crescendos of a symphony orchestra, the Model 50 handles it all with aplomb."

"Brilliantly Executed for the Modern World"

"The Model 50 and CD50n take the classic amp and CD player concept and add all the bells and whistles that we have come to expect in the 21st century," notes Ed Selley, sound-advice.online, April 15, 2024.

"This is a brilliantly flexible pair of devices that can be used in a variety of different ways. No less importantly, they will then go on to delight you with how they sound, regardless of how you choose to employ them. This is a classic idea, brilliantly executed for the modern world."

    All-Analog Design

Analog is paramount in the design of MODEL 50. The decision to exclude digital audio ensures completely intuitive operation and eliminates the risk of interference from complex digital circuitry, while offering extraordinarily simple setup and operation.

Boasting six analog inputs, including a direct connection for your turntable, MODEL 50 can reveal the musicality in all your stereo source components.

The Authority to Drive Your Loudspeakers

With a precisely engineered Class A/B amplifier, the MODEL 50 will drive your loudspeakers with authority yet reveal details you never knew existed. Even difficult to drive loudspeakers will sound effortless with the high-current, dual-device amplifier in the MODEL 50.

By using two parallel output transistors per channel rather than one, MODEL 50 delivers substantially higher current to loudspeakers than previous models in this class. This technique results in sound that is more effortless, dynamic, and lifelike than models typically found in this price range.

The Ins and Outs, Including a Turntable Connection

With a collection of available analog inputs, the MODEL 50 can accept audio from myriad source components and includes upgraded connectors for CD and Phono inputs. A built-in moving magnet phono stage is perfectly tuned to reveal details in your vinyl you never knew existed. Want more bass? Simply connect a powered subwoofer to the dedicated RCA output.

The MODEL 50 grows with you. Stereo preamp outputs leverage discrete HDAM design with external amplification.

    Current Feedback Amplification

Current feedback amplification is a well-known, Marantz-original circuit technology, thoughtfully designed to match the requirements of hi-res music for wide-bandwidth, high-speed reproduction.

Marantz current feedback amplifiers reduce the need for phase compensation by minimizing negative feedback. This simplifies the signal path and results in excellent transient response and superb sonic transparency across the full bandwidth. Unlike conventional voltage feedback topology, current feedback also makes the power amplifier capable of driving difficult loudspeaker loads, meaning MODEL 50n is the ideal amplifier for a very wide range of loudspeakers.

    Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAM)

While many brands claim unique engineering in sensitive and analog circuits, most use commonly available integrated op-amps in critical signal paths. Those op-amps can compromise audio integrity and limit design ingenuity.

Marantz developed an entirely unique replacement for integrated circuits using ultra-high-quality discrete components. Marantz HDAM circuitry outperforms traditional op-amps both in the listening room and the laboratory. Very high-speed signal handling dramatically improves bandwidth. Clever amplification design minimizes distortion, and ideal layout silences noise. Ultimately, the flexibility a fully discrete solution provided us the freedom to engineer the ideal basis for extraordinary performance.

High Quality Built-in MM Phono Stage

The high-quality built-in phono stage lets you directly connect your turntable to the MODEL 50n. Marantz is known for its phono preamp performance. Since Marantz's very first product, the Audio Consolette, hit the market decades ago, Marantz has maintained its commitment to vinyl with the Marantz Musical Phono EQ stage.

This version of Marantz Musical Phono EQ uses two-stage amplification, allowing less gain per stage for lower distortion. MODEL 50 combines Marantz HDAM technology with JFETs in the input stage, providing high input impedance that eliminates the need for AC coupling capacitors and vastly simplifies the signal path, dramatically improving the signal purity overall.

    Precision Electronic Volume Control

The MODEL 50 uses an ultra-precise electronic volume control system that adjusts both the circuit gain and the output voltage. This system maintains high dynamic range and limits noise across a far broader volume range than traditional systems. More traditional integrated amplifiers use basic potentiometers, which can suffer from poor channel balance and increasing noise and distortion over time.

The weight and smooth operation are a direct result of premium materials and engineering.

    Discrete Headphone Amplifier

For exquisite private listening, MODEL 50’s output is designed using fully discrete HDAM SA-2 circuitry to ensure your headphones sound as warm, spacious, and clear as you would expect from your loudspeakers.

    Speaker Select Knob

Connect up to two different speaker pairs and select which pair is playing by selecting A or B, using the Speaker Select knob. Or play all four at once by selecting A+B. This feature lets you easily choose between your favorite speakers or play speakers in a second room.
