Low Noise, Belt-Drive Design
The Mark-1 SE's low noise, belt-drive design uses an AC synchronous motor for superior speed stability at both 33-1/3 rpm and 45 rpm. The precision stainless steel main bearing is sheathed in Teflon® for noise-free fluid operation. Special vibration-damping adjustable feet provide isolation and make leveling a cinch.
All-New, High-Value S-Shaped Tonearm
Featuring an all-new, high-value S-shaped tonearm design, the Mark-1 delivers exceptional rigidity and internal damping, with a precision aluminum headshell, and fully adjustable VTA - a feature almost never seen in this price-range. The tonearm flange is CNC-machined, which allows for accurate mounting of the tonearm to the heavy chassis. The magnetic anti-skating feature and factory-set pre-adjusted and fixed counterweight make setup a breeze.
Alloy Platter with Soft Felt Mat
For a nice step-up from lesser turntable designs, the Mark-1 SE includes an alloy platter with an included felt mat that helps reduce potential noise caused by static build-up on your LP.
Ortofon OM 5E Cartridge Included
The Music Hall Mark-1 SE also boasts a high-quality, super-fast, and dynamic low-mass Ortofon OM 5E cartridge, perfectly matched to the characteristics of the tonearm. It creates a beautiful, full-bodied sound that until now has been impossible to achieve in a budget turntable.
The OM 5E features elliptical stylus that provides balanced and distortion-free playback. Elliptical diamonds are able to follow the groove oscillations more accurately than spherical diamonds due to their contoured shape. This results in better tracking and less distortion.
