Sleek, Compact, and Elegant Floorstanding Speaker "Ticks All the Boxes"

In creating the sleek, compact, and elegant Silver 200 7G speakers, Monitor Audio made lots of small technical decisions – such as enhancing its Rigid Surface Technology (RST) II and coming up with a new crossover system. But all of these complex moves were done with the simple aim in mind of providing great, lifelike audio, across all types of music and for all music and home theater lovers.

A choice of real-wood veneers – including new Natural Walnut and Ash options – enables you to integrate your speakers perfectly with the rest of your home. Even the smallest touches make a difference, like the new molded feet that have been designed specifically for modern hardwood floors and carpets. You might not notice every new 7G series feature right away, but you can rest assured that Monitor Audio has carefully considered them all.

    "Another Solid Offering"

"They deserve praise for how forgiving they are when fed lower resolution files and coarse bedroom recordings, treating them as pieces of music rather than exposing their shortcomings at the expense of enjoyment," reports a Five-Star review of the Silver 200 7G in What Hi-Fi? magazine, August 11, 2017. "If we create a tick-list of what makes a great all-rounder, these new Silver floorstanders pass every test and have a great deal of fun while doing so."

"In the Silver 200, Monitor Audio has produced another solid offering," notes Philip Beaudette, SoundStage!Hi-Fi, July 1, 2018. "If you've been considering bookshelf speakers but want the additional fullness of sound that towers can offer, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't audition the Silver 200."

    Sleek Two-and-a-Half-Way Design

Offering the best of both worlds in size and performance, the Silver 200 7G takes maximum advantage of its two-and-a-half-way design, where the top driver is a mid-bass and the bottom is bass only. The driver complement consists of a 1" C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter and two 5.25" C-CAM mid/bass drivers with Rigid Surface Technology (RST) II for extra clarity.

Perfect for small to mid-sized room set-ups, either in a stereo or a home theater system, the Silver 200 7G is rear-ported and tuned for ease of positioning without affecting the sound performance. Following the proportions of Monitor Audio's most successful speakers, the 200 7G has a small footprint that fits very easily into any modern home. Increased stability is provided by sturdy outrigger feet and a choice of spikes for carpets or rubber feet for hard floors. Both are included. Choose from beautiful Satin White and High Gloss Black finishes or real wood veneers Black Oak, Natural Walnut, and Ash.

    The Seventh Generation Silver Series

Ever since the Monitor Audio Silver Series was introduced in 1999, it has set standards where performance, finish and value for money are concerned. And with the new seventh generation, Monitor Audio has put even more distance between the Silver Series and its nominal competition. The seventh generation of the Silver Series features a brand-new, contemporary design in a choice of five high-quality finishes, numerous acoustic innovations and a model line-up extensive enough to cater for every music and home theater requirement.

New Rigid Surface Technology (RST) II Driver Design

The New Rigid Surface Technology (RST) II Driver uses an aluminum alloy that improves the tensile strength of the cone while retaining all the benefits of Monitor Audio's C-CAM technology – low distortion, high power handling, excellent directivity. Drivers can go louder for longer without compromise.

    New C-CAM Tweeter Design

A completely new magnet structure and rear chamber design are among the invisible improvements to the new C-CAM Tweeter Design. The new Uniform Dispersion Waveguide II and compression ring are much more visible now. And the end result of the extensive redesign is thrillingly clean and accurate treble response.

    New Crossover Design

Splitting the incoming signal between tweeter and mid/bass driver is an art in and of itself. Monitor Audio's new crossover design for the Seventh Generation Silver Series works sympathetically with the drivers to deliver perfect tonal balance.

    New Tweeter and Driver Trims

By minimizing the appearance of the mid/bass driver surround, and by making a feature of the tweeter protection dispersion pattern, both the look and the performance of the speaker is enhanced.

    New Cabinet Design and Finishes

Crisply drawn edges define the new Silver Series 7G cabinets, and the choice of five luxurious finishes, including three real-wood veneers, creates a look that's both contemporary and timeless.

"In the Silver 200, Monitor Audio has produced another solid offering. It's easy to imagine pairs of these speakers taking up residence, in rooms of small to medium size, in the homes of those who highly value the marriage of form and function -- I suspect that the Silver 200's combination of clean, dynamic sound, small size, gorgeous appearance, and excellent build quality will mean that Monitor will see a lot of them leaving the factory. "

"The Silver 200 excels in all of these areas, at a price that seems a mere pittance compared to many other speakers on the market. If you've been considering bookshelf speakers but want the additional fullness of sound that towers can offer, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't audition the Silver 200."
