The Most Musical, Accurate, Detailed Sound
The MODEL 30 is built on its own discrete circuit board, the Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Module, or HDAM. By custom-curating hundreds of individual parts, rather than adopting an off-the-shelf solution, the MODEL 30 HDAM significantly outperforms standard integrated circuits to create the unique musicality you always expect from Marantz.
Marantz Musical Premium Phono EQ
Envisioned to deliver optimal sound quality by simplifying the signal path – vital given the delicate nature of phono signals – the Phono EQ stage in the MODEL 30 amplifier can be used with both moving magnet and low-output moving coil cartridges, thanks to a built-in MC head amplifier. The design lowers distortion, which is why the phono stage uses two-stage amplification, combining Marantz HDAMs with JFETs in the input stage, giving high input impedance. This allows the non-negative-feedback design to be further simplified by the deletion of coupling capacitors, again reducing distortion and enhancing signal purity.
MC / MM Phono Input Impedance Selector
In order to optimize sound performance when using a moving coil (MC) or magnetic moving (MM) cartridge, and to accommodate all configurations as much as possible, MODEL 30 is equipped with an input impedance selector. The input impedance can be adjusted to three different settings: MC LOW (33 ohm), MC MID (100 ohm) and MC HIGH (390 ohm).
Analog-Feel Volume Control
The newly developed electric volume control uses the latest volume control IC to realize better channel separation, dynamic range and distortion-reduction. MODEL 30 employs a new Marantz-designed electric volume control for high linearity and best-in-class channel separation. In other words, you always get the volume precisely how you want it.
Fully Discrete Current Feedback Preamplifier
Current Feedback preamplification with HDAM-SA3 is a well-known, Marantz-original circuit technology, thoughtfully designed to match the requirements of super audio High Resolution music for wide-bandwidth and high-speed reproduction. Being fully discrete, each part can be individually selected and optimized for sound quality and performance by the Marantz Sound Master during long listening sessions.
Switching Power Amplification
The MODEL 30 maintains the purest possible sound and supports the power needed to drive the most demanding speakers. The amplifier output stage of MODEL 30 allows a large power output, delivering 2x100W into an 8ohms load, and easily copes with low impedance speakers thanks to a 2x200W output into 4ohms. Because the feedback is taken after the output filter coil in this switching amplification design, the output frequency response stays the same and is not influenced by the impedance of the connected loudspeaker, ensuring the most musical sound no matter the loudspeakers. The amplifier module connects directly to the rear panel PCB on MODEL 30 to minimize the output path to maintain signal purity and sound stability.

Marantz has built a reputation for choosing the best-possible components for its products. Extensive, loving tuning has long been the secret of fine-sounding Marantz amplifiers. Marantz engineers select and optimize each component through careful listening in dedicated Marantz facilities in Europe and Japan. During the development stage, every part is carefully selected, tested, and validated by the Marantz Sound Master to ensure you get that perfect Marantz sound every time you listen.
Two Independent Power Supplies
The MODEL 30 boasts two independent power supplies for the best separation between the pre-amplifier stages and power amplifier stage, where signal levels are still low and the audio signal is sensitive to any distortion, and the power amplifier stage, which drives the speakers with high signal levels and current. The MODEL 30 power supply circuit, designed exclusively for the preamplifier, enables a stable power supply that is not affected by fluctuations from power demanded by the power amplifier stage. An oversized toroidal transformer, known for its clean supply, is dedicated exclusively for the preamp to ensure high purity. A double shield steel case is mounted around the transformer to suppress the leakage flux that could affect peripheral circuits.
The power supply for the power amplifier stage is designed to deliver high current instantaneously to the switching mode amplifier. This ensures full control over connected speakers to follow even the hardest bass attacks and provides clean power for the reproduction of the finest details.
Multiple Analog Inputs and Outputs
In addition to phono and CD analog inputs, MODEL 30 features two line-level inputs and one pair of recorder input/output jacks that enable the connection of multiple sources and recorders. Use MODEL 30 as a standalone stereo power amplifier for additional system configuration versatility with the included power amp direct input. For example, use the front pre-outs of your AV setup and run them through MODEL 30 power amps.

The advanced headphone circuit delivers superb audio fidelity with the widest range of headphone types and impedances, including low impedance headphones.
System Remote Control
Use the elegant remote control to operate MODEL 30 as well as the complementary SACD 30n Streaming CD Player. MODEL 30 features remote control input and output jacks for additional remote-control configuration flexibility as well as a display for synchronized wake up times.

Like its counterpart, the SACD 30n Streaming CD Player, the MODEL 30 Integrated Amplifier is designed to the highest standards. The solid chassis is constructed from thick, heavy, non-magnetic aluminum panels and a rigid steel top cover to eliminate added interference. Sturdy, brass machined independent input terminals for CD and Phono plus Marantz original high-quality/high-purity nickel-plated speaker terminals ensure the best signal possible.
