The Premium Wireless Speaker Your Music Deserves

Naim Audio's Mu-so 2nd Generation is the successor to the multiple award-winning Mu-so wireless music system. The 2nd Generation model has been re-engineered for class-leading performance, functionality and usability by Naim's experts in Salisbury, England.

This special Wood Edition features an expertly lacquered, sustainable Ayous hardwood finish and a unique woven speaker grille that looks great in any decor.

Combining Naim's 45 years of hi-fi mastery with the very latest music-streaming technology and premium design quality, this is the ultimate single-box system you and your music deserve. From up to 32-bit high-resolution streaming to multiroom music to HDMI TV sound, you’ve never heard an all-in-one wireless system quite like this before.

    "Naim Just Crushed It"

"There's increasing competition in the 'premium wireless speaker' market, but Naim Mu-so 2 just crushed it," raves T3, May 2019. "An awesome, thumping wall of sound and reliable, versatile software platform make for the perfect 21st-century music experience."

"In every meaningful respect – dynamism, low-frequency presence, high-end attack, you name it – the Mu-so 2 advances on the original Mu-so," notes trustedreviews.com, June 2019.

"It has more rivals to face than the Mu-so ever did - but those… only exist because of the new ground broken by Mu-so. And Mu-so 2 seems more than capable of maintaining its predecessor’s position at the front of the pack," reports Stuff magazine for June 2019.

    The Naim Streaming Platform

At the heart of Mu-so 2nd Generation is Naim’s music-streaming platform, developed by 25 engineers over three years to offer the very best performance whether playing your own digital music collection, a world of Internet radio, or music streaming services such as TIDAL and Spotify. This acclaimed platform is unique to Naim music-streaming products and can be found in the high-end Uniti range and dedicated network players, including Naim's £20,000 flagship ND 555.

An All-New DSP is the Heart of the System

Naim's all-new multicore Digital Signal Processor (DSP) achieves the highest level of performance, providing 2000 MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) compared to the original Mu-so’s single-core, 150MIPS DSP. Thanks to the lightning-quick processing speed, you can also hear even more from your music than before.

Naim has also created a brand new limiter algorithm that keeps each of Mu-so 2nd Generation’s speaker drivers’ movement under control even at high volume levels. The new limiter, by design, is only active at extreme volume levels and helps to retain the music’s clarity while increasing long term reliability.

    Optimized Speaker Drivers

Mu-so 2nd Generation’s 450 watts of music power are joined by improved and highly optimized speaker drivers – a joint development project between Naim and Focal R&D departments. Focal has been creating benchmark acoustic equipment since 1979, and its expertise has taken speaker-driver precision and performance to new levels.

    95% Re-engineered and Upgraded 2nd Gen Design

The Mu-so 2nd Generation puts across a stunning appearance in its premium aluminum casing with a new burnished grey finish. It may look similar outside to the original Mu-so, but inside Mu-so 2nd Generation, the majority of components have been upgraded to improve performance.

The cabinet design has been re-engineered to create 13% more internal volume, enabling bigger, better bass. Both the cabinet bracing and baffle molding have been redesigned for improved rigidity, which suppresses and controls vibrations.

The distinctive heat-sink fins are now more compact, while still being ultra-effective, and continuing to feature Naim patented technology that discreetly incorporates the wi-fi antenna.

    Upgraded App Control

You can use your smartphone or tablet to control the Mu-so. The updated Naim app allows you to browse by artist, genre, album and more, complete with artwork and extended music information. You can also use the app to control volume, light settings, and room modes, and also to create playlists.

For those times when your phone or tablet aren't handy, an infrared wireless remote control is included, too.

    Discover the New Intuitive Dial

You can also take control of the Mu-so via the sleek front panel. The new intuitive interface has 15 touch sensitive buttons and a bold, illuminated volume dial with a proximity sensor that wakes the display.

Among many other functions, the interface makes it easy to create a multiroom group with other Naim products, tap to pair Bluetooth device, cycle through external Inputs (HDMI, digital, analog), tap to play from a USB device, and tap to resume a play queue (Spotify Resume if you're logged in). You can directly access favorites. Plus. There's a Chromecast indicator and an AirPlay indicator.

Multiroom Music Made Easy with Smart Integration

Mu-so 2nd Generation works brilliantly on its own or as part of a multiroom music set-up. There are three easy ways to make it multiroom.

The first way is to combine it with other networked Naim products (including 1st Generation Mu-so and Mu-so Qb) via the updated Naim app. Second, you can pPair it with other AirPlay 2-compatible wireless speakers via the Apple Home app. The third wat is to pair it with other Chromecast devices via groups controlled by the Google Home app.

2 Years Parts & Labor Naim Audio Warranty Information

"As lovely as the Mu-so 2’s packaging is, it really should have confetti spray out when you open it. This is a party in a box, waiting to enjoy. Regardless of how you might engage Naim’s Mu-so 2, it’s up to whatever music related tasks you can give it. We tend to pooh-pooh all in ones, but this one is true to its heritage and worthy of an Exceptional Value Award for 2021."

    - TONEAudio, 2021

"The Naim Mu-so 2 systems have improved on the originals by providing more connections, more power, and great sound in a compact, easy to use product that exudes style and quality."

"The Naim Mu-so 2 and Qb 2 Wireless Music Systems offer great sound in stylish packages. I was impressed by their physical build and weight, and even more so by their great sound quality. They worked well for background music during dinner and can really rock the party when guests are over. Complete control is in the palm of your hand. We live in a time where physical media may be slowly dying but streaming good quality sound to a music system just got a big boost from the Naim Mu-so 2 and Qb 2. Long live the stream."

    - Jim Milton, Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity, December 14, 2020

"As a source it all adds up to a very rhythmic and delightful, uncluttered presentation that is very enjoyable indeed."

"I can do no less than recommend this product as a fantastic piece of audio equipment and give it my Highly Recommended Award. Love it."

"My first choice is using the Mu-so as an office system. It’s compact enough to place on a desk, and awesome enough to make your cubicle the new coolest place in town."

    - Marc Phillips, Part-Time Audiophile, October 2, 2020

    2022 Recommended Components - Stereophile

"The musical Mu-so 2nd Generation offers serious sound and engineering from a respected maker, but it's also built for fun. I wanted to keep on listening, and that speaks volumes. Whether soaking up new stuff or revisiting old favorites, I never experienced the aural fatigue that can set in after a long listening session with some powerful, high-octane systems (wonderful and impressive as those can be). This was true even at higher volumes. I was listening to more electronic music, along with some drums and bass. Jazz, too—a form I usually prefer live."

"The Mu-so delivers on Naim's stated intention: to get people—audiophiles or not, even analog devotees—to engage more with their music. It's small and inexpensive for what all you get, but it's plenty good enough to capture, or recapture, sublime musical moments and memories."

    - Julie Mullins, Stereophile, October 1, 2020

"We’re surprised just how much sonic progression the Naim Mu-so 2 brings, however these advancements are necessary to justify the hefty price increase over the original."

    - What Hi-Fi?, June 19, 2019

"In every meaningful respect – dynamism, low-frequency presence, high-end attack, you name it – the Mu-so 2 advances on the original Mu-so."

    - trustedreviews.com, June 2019

    - Stuff, June 2019

"There's increasing competition in the 'premium wireless speaker' market, but Naim Mu-so 2 just crushed it. An awesome, thumping wall of sound and reliable, versatile software platform make for the perfect 21st-century music experience."
