Damp-It prevents transmission of vibration when positioned on resonant surfaces like glass, metal, or thin wood panels. These surfaces typically receive mechanical energy from speakers or subwoofers or from the low frequency emissions from road traffic and transformers.
Speaker cabinets and almost all stock feet of AV gear are not designed to isolate them from the frequency ranges that can compromise their performance. Damp-It consists of high tech synthetic rubber material that dampens a wide frequency range from infrasonic to 500 Hz and therefore effectively prevents transmission of structure-born sound.
