Affordable High-Performance 'Table with 10" Composite Tonearm
Pro-Ject does it again, innovating and improving their line-up of affordable, great-sounding turntables by adding the highly capable RPM 3 Carbon. You will have to shell out a lot more cash to equal the feature package and the level of performance which the RPM 3 Carbon delivers.
The RPM 3 Carbon utilizes evolutionary enhancements to improve the performance of RPM series 'tables. A low resonance chassis holds an inverted platter bearing with ceramic ball for a further reduction in rumble. An outboard 15V AC motor is smoothly driven using an ultra precision AC generator with a DC power supply for further enhanced speed stability compared to lesser turntables in its price range. You can really hear the difference that this motor makes in the fidelity of your music.
Newly Designed S-Shaped Tonearm
For the RPM 3 Carbon, Pro-Ject designed a new 10-inch S-shaped tonearm tube. This advanced tube is made from a special combination of carbon fiber, aluminum, and resin. Using a complex three-step process involving heat treatment and high pressure, the arm tube rigidity is strengthened, internal damping is maximized, and resonances are reduced to a minimum. You've got to experience this tonearm to believe it.
These attributes make the RPM 3 Carbon's tonearm suitable for superior results using MC moving coil cartridges as well as MM moving magnet cartridges, and this is a feature not often found in turntables in this price range.
Additional features include a new magnetic antiskating mechanism and a TPE-damped counterweight. All of these ingredients add up to a miracle in sound for the price along with ultra-stylish looks. The 300mm/11.9" platter is made from heavy MDF using a vinyl layer as a mat.

The RPM 3 Carbon comes with a factory-installed Moonstone, an affordable high-performance moving magnet cartridge that utilizes the powerful mechanically-generated electromotive forces of the moving magnet to help give your playback extra punch and convincing realism.
Exceptionally well-balanced and dimensionally dense, the breathtaking dynamics of the Moonstone outperform many comparably priced moving coil cartridges without requiring the huge investment in preamplification.
