Sets a New Performance Standard in Its Price Range

The T2 turntable upgrades and enhances Pro-Jet's critically acclaimed T1 'table. It introduces new audiophile features and sets a new standard of performance in its price range.

The elegantly crafted CNC-machined plinth has been expanded in size to enhance stability and is available in striking finishes such as High Gloss Black, Satin White, or Walnut. It boasts a construction free of plastic components and meticulous manufacturing that eliminates any hollow spaces within, effectively preventing unwanted vibrations within the chassis.

Compared to the T1, the glass platter is heavier and thicker, ensuring a zero-resonance design that effectively eliminates the shortcomings associated with plastic or lightweight steel alternatives. Complementing these improvements, purpose-selected turntable feet effectively isolate the T2 from ambient vibrations present in the vicinity of your hi-fi system.

    Advanced Motor and Drive System

The motor and drive system are identical to those found in the T1. The motor drives a belt system, connected to Pro-Ject's newly designed sub-platter exclusive to the T-line. This sub-platter is mounted on an ultra-precise 0.001mm main bearing with a hardened steel axle and brass bushing. Where most alternative products may use un-regulated DC motors with wide speed fluctuations, the T2 Super Phono features Pro-Ject's proven system of an electronically regulated, precision-speed AC motor.

The T2 also comes with electronic speed switching between 33 and 45 RPM. The result is a low-noise, stable drive system for the turntable.

    New Tonearm and Anti-Skating

The T2's tonearm has been improved for better cartridge geometry. Still a one-piece aluminum design, its effective length has been upgraded to 9". And it adds an updated low-friction bearing to accommodate the increased length and diameter for absolute accuracy in use.

Aside from clean aesthetics, the integrated headshell is a key player in minimizing armtube resonance (bonded headshells have adverse effects in terms of resonance).

The T2 also features user-friendly spring-based anti-skating for fast and accurate setup. Since the Sumiko Rainier is factory-aligned with the tracking force set, simply turn the wheel to your desired value and you're done with tonearm adjustments!

    Sumiko Rainier MM Phono Cartridge

The T2 includes the acclaimed high-value Sumiko Rainier MM phono cartridge which synergizes beautifully with the sonic characteristics of the turntable. The cartridge is factory-aligned with the tracking force set!

Remember that the Rainier can be easily upgraded to the Olympia, Moonstone, or Wellfleet with the simple swap of a stylus.

    Semi-Balanced Phono Cable

Like the T1, the T2 is topped-off with shielded, semi-symmetrical, low-capacitance phono cables purpose-designed by Pro-Ject for use with turntables. Pro-Ject also includes an acrylic dust cover with adjustable hinges for your convenience. Everything you need is in the box and can be assembled in minutes!

    True Balanced Capable

The T2 uses gold-plated RCA outputs that are wired symmetrically (aka 'balanced') in the RCA junction box. Like any other Pro-Ject turntable with RCA phono outputs, it can be run balanced with the appropriate cartridge, cable, and phono preamp.

This means by upgrading to a MC cartridge or Pro-Ject's Pick it PRO Balanced (specially designed balanced MM cartridge), plus any Pro-Ject balanced phono stages as well as a balanced connecting cable, you can capitalize on the advantages Pro-Ject's True Balanced Connection has to offer. Audibly this amounts to less noise, greater dynamics, clearer transients, and an overall more immersive experience.
