An Affordable Phono Preamp That "Gets You Across the Threshold of the Big League"

Rogue Audio's all new Triton II is simply a terrific sounding phono preamp and is a bargain at its price. With its large variety of loading options, the Triton's flexibility and high performance make it suitable for virtually any phono cartridge and system.

The original Triton was an unqualified success with vinyl fanatics as well as the audiophile press. The Triton II one-ups the first iteration. The completely new circuit design offers improved sound, better dynamics, a significantly lower noise floor, and higher overall gain (70dB). Rogue Audio also added a user selectable rumble filter and an external mono switch to the Triton II. All of this provides a significant performance upgrade for improvements that don't just show up on paper but hit the listener squarely in the ears in the most positive way.

    "An Effortlessly Three-Dimensional Soundstage"

"Instruments gain a tangible presence in the room and are placed in an effortlessly three-dimensional soundstage," reports England's Hi-fi Choice magazine. "The consistent engagement that the Triton II brings to music is what really charms here. If you’re on the side of the hi-fi argument that a domestic system is all about enjoying music rather than dissecting it, this phono stage makes this a reality and so needs seeking out at the price."

"I would highly recommend the Rogue Audio Triton to anyone looking to enhance their vinyl experience beyond the entry-level," notes Sujesh Pavithran, audiofi.net. "Let me assure you, the Triton gets you across the threshold of the big league and will survive a number of upgrades in your vinyl rig."

    Exceptionally Quiet

Triton II is exceptionally quiet, due in part of its massive, fully-regulated multi-stage power supply. Three stages of amplification further contribute to the exceptionally low noise. Details you may have never heard before in your vinyl suddenly emerge from an inky black background. Because of the ultra low noise floor, the Triton II excels with the most difficult cartridges.

    Excels with Any Cartridge

Compatible with low, medium, and high output moving coil (MC) cartridges plus moving magnet (MM) cartridges, Triton II has internal settings for the most popular loading options. Four different gain levels are available (43dB, 55dB, 60dB, 70dB), plus 20, 30, 100, 300, 1K, 47k, 75K, 100K Ohm loading options and 0, 47, 150, 470,1K Picofared loading options. A hatch cover on the chassis provides easy access to the configuration switches.

Premium Internal Parts and Performance Enhancing Circuitry

Only the highest quality parts are used throughout the build, including ultra heavy-duty gold RCA inputs, and the components are meticulously hand-wired to heavy, two-ounce copper circuit boards. For experiencing the recording just the way the artist and engineer intended, the Triton II offers Precise RIAA equalization of +/- 0.1 dB 20 – 20 kHz. There is also a defeatable rumble filter (user selectable on/off) and mono mode operation.

Designed and Hand Built in the USA

The Triton II is entirely designed and hand built in the USA. Each unit is individually fully tested, burned-in, and auditioned, assuring you of great sound right out of the box. It comes with a three-year manufacturer's limited warranty from Rogue Audio (six months on the tubes). A high quality detachable IEC AC power cord is included.

The machined aluminum faceplate is available in either black or silver to complement the rest of your components.
