The Airship II elevates REL’s reputation for state-of-the-art wireless connectivity to new heights. Taking advantage of the latest Texas Instruments DAC/ADC chip set, REL reduced the noise on the wireless system by 12 dB. Sound traveling through 40, 50, or even 60 feet arrives clear, crisp, dynamic, and with even richer, more saturated tonal colors compared to Airship II's predecessor.

Airship II offers high-level input, low-level input, .1/LFE-RCA input, and .1/LFE XLR balanced input. The LFE and high-level may run simultaneously. For listeners who want all the performance that models from REL's Serie S and Reference series deliver, but who either cannot use conventional cable or prefer room orientations that make conventional cable difficult, help has arrived. The Best of Both Worlds

The Airship II permits simultaneous use of REL's 5.8 gig connection for both high level connection and the .1/LFE channel needed for the highest quality theater experience. In this way, both two-channel music and multi-channel home theater are supported simultaneously, meaning the REL owner can use their REL without having to adjust anything further to enjoy any form of two-channel or multi-channel music or soundtracks.

The high-level input is designed to accept the stereo (two-channel) signals from the speaker terminals of your receiver, integrated amplifier, or power amplifier(s). This ensures that your subwoofer receives exactly the same signal as the main speakers, which means that the character of the bass from the main system is carried forward into REL's sub-bass system. Along with our extremely fast, natural-sounding PerfectFilter™ input circuits, the Airship II lets you reap the benefits of REL’s superior system integration. RELs are known for their perfect, rich integration in which you cannot sonically locate the subwoofer’s location.

For top-tier home theater performance, REL has given the .1/LFE circuit its own dedicated wireless channel, allowing the largest, most dynamic movie special effects to be properly replicated in all their glory. Airship II delivers 2 channels in parallel. One channel is for music and theater in high-level (or low-level, which is increasingly needed for applications such as active wireless speakers). The second channel is for .1/LFE in theater use.

When both channels are used properly, the typical cold, edgy sound most home theaters deliver suddenly becomes rich, and full-bodied. Dialog and atmospheric effects take on new drama and realism, because the full range of sounds are provided during every moment of the movie by the high-level, while the .1 channel delivers extra emphasis during the 15-20 minutes of a movie when this channel is active. It is truly the best of both worlds.
