Editors' Choice Award 2022 Home Theater Review
"Speedy Loading, Reliable Playback, and Exceptional Sound Quality"
The RCD-1572MKII follows Rotel’s proud tradition of delivering award winning CD players since 1989. It magnificently supports the over 200 billion CDs sold in the market with authentic, genuine detail delivering an exceptional sense of space and depth.
Utilizing an ultra-low noise in-house manufactured toroidal transformer, the RCD-1572MKII’s circuits are electrically and physically isolated, removing unwanted distortion and lowering the noise floor. A premium Texas Instruments 32-bit DAC delivers exceptional frequency response to fully balanced differential XLR Balanced, RCA and coaxial digital outputs.
The RCD-1572MKII is both classic and refined, ready to deliver stunning detail and extraordinary clarity to your music collection. Since most music lovers have a substantial collection of compact discs, a high quality CD player is still an important part of most music systems. The RCD-1572MKII focuses careful refinements to reveal even the most subtle nuances buried in a CD's pit spiral.
"It’ll Surely Serve a Music Lover Well for Years to Come"
"The Rotel RCD-1572MKII is, as anticipated, a rock-solid CD player with speedy loading, reliable playback, and exceptional sound quality. It offers the exact features that you would expect to find on a classic CD player," reports Mark Henninger in Home Theater Review, January 19 2022. "This updated Rotel flagship is a Home Theater Review Editors’ Choice and it’ll surely serve a music lover well for years to come."
"The MKII CD players have upgraded CD drive mechanisms, new CD controller chipsets, and tuned critical acoustic components alongside the new DAC," reports Joe Svetlik, What Hi-Fi?, January 14, 2022. "In terms of connections, the CD14MKII and RCD-1572MKII offer RCA outputs and single coaxial digital outputs so they can operate as CD transports supporting off-board digital-to-analogue processing. The RCD-1572MKII also boasts a fully balanced, fully differential XLR output."
Purpose Designed CD Transport Mechanism and New 32/384 DAC
The RCD-1572MKII elevates performance by utilizing a purpose designed and built CD transport mechanism along with other circuit refinements. True to its design as a "classic" CD player, it uses a smooth, tray-loading CD mechanism that is a pleasure to operate.
One of the RCD-1572MKII's most important features is its premium new Texas Instruments 32-bit/384kHz digital-to-analog converter. This DAC was originally developed for high resolution sources. While word lengths and sampling speed may seem excessive for CDs delivering data at far lower rates, this high speed facility adds reserve capability to ensure proper reproduction under all circumstances. As the most crucial link between a CD's digital data and the analog world in which we listen, this converter boasts significant attributes in addition to its superb high resolution capabilities.
Superior Post-Converter Analog Circuitry
The post-converter analog circuitry benefits from Rotel's decades-long experiences in crafting the finest sounding pathway from the DAC's internal output to RCA and XLR rear panel connectors that bridge the gap between the RCD-1572 and down-stream components. It boasts fully balanced differential XLR outputs for the best sound quality.
All circuit components – resistors, capacitors, inductors – are chosen only after their positive contribution to sound quality were quantified and verified qualitatively by extensive listening sessions.
All of these circuits draw on a power supply based on a new ultra-low noise custom Rotel-designed and precision-manufactured toroidal power transformer that, in turn, feeds precise rectifiers, tight-tolerance voltage regulators, and advanced Slit-Foil low-ESR storage capacitors, all globally sourced to ensure musically accurate operation under even the most demanding conditions.
This is all part of Rotel's long-proven Balanced Design Concept. It's yet another way of assuring you that the RCD-1572 evidences a level of attention that will make it part of your reference-level music system for years to come.
A wireless remote control is included as standard.
