"Incredible Value" Headphones Reveal the Truth in Music

Treat yourself to natural and accurate reference-quality sound. With linear acoustics tailored to extended listening sessions and smooth, gratifying bass performance, the HD 560S headphone was crafted for demanding audio enthusiasts like you.

The HD 560S reveals the truth in your music. Today’s audiophiles pay deep attention to their music on a wide range of devices from headphone amplifiers, audio interfaces, computers, and more. This headphone delivers the linear performance required by analytical audio enthusiasts and it does so at a breakthrough value – allowing you to have an honest look inside your music.

"Elaborate Soundstage and Articulate Frequency Response"

"The 560s at their current price is an incredible value. To get comparable sound out of speakers, you’d have to spend far more than $200 on room treatment alone. Speakers that cost exponentially more than $200 will not sound as accurate as these headphones," observes Jake Cheriff, headphones.com, July 13, 2021."

"Personally, I’d take these over the currently more expensive Sennheiser HD 650 / HD 6XX because of the more elaborate soundstage and more articulate frequency response. The HD 650 has an undoubtedly more subdued/laid-back sound so it’s easy to imagine someone preferring those for casual listening."

    "A Rock Solid Choice"

"The Sennheiser HD 560S is a rock-solid choice if you're aiming to grab a set of headphones that live by the computer but don't break the bank," reports Christian Thomas, soundguys.com, September 18, 2023. "They're not going to make you forget about ultra high-end headphones, but they offer extremely good performance for the price at the tradeoff of build materials being a little cheaper."

"The Sennheiser HD 560s offers a neutral and balanced listening experience with great clarity in the mids and treble," notes Tonza, head-fi.org, September 20, 2024. "The sound quality—especially when paired with the right amplifier—makes it an excellent choice for those looking for accurate, detailed headphones at a reasonable price."

"Sennheiser’s extensive back-catalogue of five-star and Award-winning headphones spans more than five decades. This wired set of open-back over-ears is a valid addition, offering a perfectly acceptable and sonically detailed budget-conscious option," according to What Hi-Fi? magazine, March 8, 2021.

    Open Earcups for Open Minds

The HD 560S features an open-back design that provides natural propagation of sound waves. The E.A.R. (Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement) angled driver alignment recreates the optimal triangular listening position you regularly find in hi-fi loudspeaker setups. This combination creates a wide, articulate soundstage without the need for room treatment, letting you hear the neutral version of your music unaffected by the artifacts of a confined space.

    Signature Sennheiser Sound

The HD 560S transducers are specifically tuned for accuracy, offering dependable A/B comparisons of components, remasters, and media formats.

"We have developed an all-new 120 ohm transducer, featuring a specialized polymer blend in its diaphragm for linear excursion and brilliance above 10 kHz. This makes the HD 560S accurate across the entire frequency spectrum, to reveal every detail of your music," observes Kurt Mick, Acoustics and Transducer Team Leader at Sennheiser.

"We've listened carefully to our customers' demands for neutral reference headphones and have delivered on all fronts with accurate bass response, clarity above 10 kHz, and a natural soundstage," reports Jermo Köhnke, Audiophile Product Manager at Sennheiser. "Combines with an accessible price, the HD 560S represents a paradigm shift for open, dynamic headphones and invites you to discover the audiophile world."

    Comfort is King

Although the HD 560S sound is rooted in the reference-level DNA of the beloved HD 660S, its comfort mechanics are based on the chassis of our ultralight HD 599.

A headphone this neutral deserves a distraction-free fit and a "barely there" feel on your head. Even the velour earpads have been carefully considered to keep all contact points soft to the touch. The open, around-the-ear design offers benefits beyond natural sound. The ventilated cup remains cool without ever needing to touch your ears.

    It’s All About the Connection

Because audiophiles frequent a variety of sources, Sennheiser developed the HD 560S to provide an exceptional experience regardless of the playback system.

The detachable 6ft (1.8M) cable provides the perfect amount of freedom to access your gear, no matter how it may be oriented within your setup. The 1/8" (3.5 mm) plug lets you connect to headphone amplifiers and most hi-fi sources while a 1/4" (6.3mm) screw-on adapter ensures you can extract the most out of your reference material on portable digital audio players and countless other audio devices.
