A Two-Shelf Rack That Looks and Performs Like No Other

One look at the Solidsteel Hyperspike HY-2 tells you this is the reference-quality AV rack you've been waiting for. A rack that looks and performs like no other.

This stunning two-shelf rack features stainless-steel frames made of 1.5"-diameter tubes, providing rock-solid support for black-lacquered MDF shelves. The modular design lets you combine HY racks to expand your storage capability as your system grows.

For maximum control of floor-borne and component-generated vibration, each shelf features precision cone point isolation feet for decoupling from the shelf below, plus internal decoupling pins. The rack floor feet use height-adjustable spikes plus included floor-protection discs.

The HY-2 is 17.5" tall, 23.6" wide, and 19.7" deep. Usable shelf dimensions are 23.6" wide, 19.7" deep for the top shelf and 20" wide, 19.7" deep for the lower shelf. The distance between first and second shelf is 11.2" - and between the second shelf and the floor is 3.9". The weight capacity is a maximum of 155 lb. per shelf.

"Contributed to My Reference System's Overall Performance"

"How do you grade an equipment rack for its sound quality? Well, I came away confident that the Solidsteel rack contributed to my reference system's overall performance significantly, and I am sure that many audio manufacturers – and indeed exhibitors at hi-fi shows – will agree," reports Mark Gusew in his February 7, 2020 StereoNet review of the four-shelf HY-4.

"Due to its top-class design, and its weight and overall rigidity, there was no discernible colouration from the HY-4. This held true even when listening at high volume levels or playing music with particularly heavy bass. It seemed well able to sink unwanted vibrations."

    Acoustical Research and Innovation

Since its first official launch in 2006, the Hyperspike series racks have occupied the top tier of Solidsteel AV racks. The Hyperspike series marries our premium Italian design to acoustical research and innovation, making these racks famous worldwide.

In 2018, Solidsteel's new HY series Hyperspike racks wrote a new chapter of the company's esteemed history as Europe's premier AV rack architect. Solidsteel defines the HY series as one of "Functional Beauty," in which the performance enhancing features are accented in an arresting, eye-catching design that absolutely exudes quality on every front.

Despite the high-end performance, these racks offer exceptional value for the money. The HY series is an evolution of the bestselling Hyperspike Junior (HJ Series) models, which for decades have offered the benefits of Hyperspike stands at affordable prices.
