Advanced Design and Enhancements
The Solidsteel S3-2 two-shelf rack boasts the same advanced design as the larger S3 Series racks. It provides a nice step up from S2 Series racks, thanks to S3 Series enhancements. These include support tubes containing damping material for added resonance control plus an increase in weight capacity of 132 lb. per shelf versus 110 lb. per shelf for S2 Series racks.
The space between shelves of the S3-2 is a generous 12.8". If you're a vinyl lover, you will appreciate the 23" width and 16.9" depth of the top platform for your turntable. The overall rack height of 18.7". The usable shelf width of the bottom shelf is 19.7" with a usable depth of 16.9". The assembled rack weighs 33 lb.

The S3-2 boasts rigid MDF shelves and new, non-welded aluminum tubular supports. Aluminum is lighter than steel, ridiculously strong, non-magnetic, and an excellent damping material. By eliminating welding from the equation, S2 racks eliminate resonances that develop in hollow welded posts. Unwanted energy and vibrations cannot seep into your rack.
And speaking of damping, the aluminum tubular supports are filled with damping material to reduce resonance and room vibrations that can compromise the quality of music reproduction. Solidsteel's adjustable stainless steel spike feet are included for another degree of isolation and to provide convenient leveling. Protective floor discs are also included.
