Large Shelf and Ridiculously Sturdy Design
With a large shelf measuring 19.5" wide x 16.25" deep x 0.74" thick, the WS-5 works with almost any turntable. Weighing in at a massive 28 pounds and ridiculously sturdy, the WS-5 touts a big 2"-high by 1"-thick steel outer frame welded to an extremely thick 6"-highback plate. The 1"-square crossbars are taken directly from Solidsteel’s own audio racks.
The proprietary Duraluminum isolation cones are inherited from Solidsteel's racks, too. Leveling of the MDF shelf with laminate black finish may be fine-tuned via the four cone cups using an included Allen key.
Mounting Requirements
The WS-5 is capable of truly staggering weight handling capability only when mounted to a proper structure and with proper hardware. Designed for 16" studs, the WS-5 can also be mounted on virtually any other load bearing structure (brick, concrete, etc.) as long as the appropriate connectors are used.
For brick or concrete walls, use the included 1/8" x 2" concrete anchor bolts. For drywall or other types of hollow walls, use toggle bolts (not included), which can hold up to 100 lb.
