All-Tube Amp for Stax-type Electrostatic Headphones
Woo Audio's GES is a great sounding all-tube headphone amplifier for Stax-type electrostatic headphones. It uses 6S4 and 12AX7 vacuum tubes in its circuitry and provides a luxurious and unique listening experience that only tube gear can provide – and Woo Audio is an expert in designing the highest quality vacuum tube components.
The 800 volts peak voltage swing of the GES produces a greater dynamic range than many other electrostatic headphone amps, including the Stax.
The GES uses push-Pull direct drive, Class-A circuitry using the highest quality internal components, including high-performance Solen and WIMA capacitors and point-to-point wiring. The tube complement consists of four 6S4 power tubes and four 12AX7 driver tubes in premium polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tube sockets. The ALPS potentiometer and power switch provide a great feel during operation and are both exceptionally quiet.
Connections consist of two pairs of RCA stereo inputs and one STAX Pro Bias 5-pin EarSpeakers output. The anodized aluminum chassis is available in black or silver.

The GES can accommodate a wide range of vacuum tubes, which makes it an excellent choice for those who love to experiment with different tubes to change the sound. And unlike some tube gear, which is fussy to use and requires frequent tube checks, the GES is self-biasing when you use compatible tubes. Compatible driver tubes include ECC83, ECC803S, 12BZ7, 12AD7, 5751, 7025, 7058, B339, and B759.
